Harleys Angels Inc. is a Salt Lake City 501(c)(3) born from love and loss — educating youth on gun safety and walking with families through grief.

Who is Harley?

Harley Jarrett grew up in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. He lived his 17 years snowboarding, skateboarding, and living a vegetarian lifestyle. He enjoyed time with friends and family — but most of all, he spread love to everyone he came in contact with.

On June 4, 2013, Jeff opened the door to police officers who told him the news every parent dreads: his only child had been accidentally shot and killed by a friend while looking at a stolen gun.

My life has been a journey of unimaginable challenges, but also of resilience and purpose. After the death of my 17-year-old son Harley I navigated the depths of grief and addiction, and I discovered a spark within me that refused to be extinguished. I eventually found solace in my faith and a new purpose to honor my son’s memory and help make a difference for those experiencing the loss of a child. I share my story not for sympathy, but to show that no matter what life throws at you, you have the power to rise above.

What we believe

Kids deserve clear, age-appropriate gun safety education — before a crisis.
Families who lose a child should not grieve alone.
People who cause unintentional harm need a path toward healing and accountability.
Youth should find power in achievements, talents, and goals — not the false power of a gun.
